You heard me. A great big merry christmas from the folk at Master Giraffe. With this post comes an apology for our lack of activity recently, and a promise that soon Master Giraffe will be back in full force.

Huzzah!

Truly. Thanks to MASTER GIRAFFE regular X-Soldier, I have come to learn about the coolest sea creature ever. The Magnapinna squid, also known as the Bigfin squid, is a rarely seen MONSTROSITY located somewhere in that big blue thing we call the ocean. This thing is fucking awesome, seriously. It looks like a monster from a science fiction movie. An old science fiction movie. And it has elbows.

CLICK HERE FOR A VIDEO OF THE AWESOME SQUID!

Enjoy. I know I did.

Here is the first photo of Gambit as he appears in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine film.

I’m not sure how I feel about the purple shirt. Or the general look of him. Here’s hoping. Check out www.superherohype.com for more details.

The latest trailer for the upcoming Watchmen film is online, and you can view it HERE.

This trailer is certainly a lot more story-centric than the previous trailer, which left anyone who hasn’t read the comic in a state of complete confusion. Also it has a Muse song. Instant win? I think so.

This would be interesting, and because it’s HBO doing it - I believe it could turn out quite good. Like a poor man’s entourage. But he’s still a tool.

Anthony Kiedis – shirt-fearing frontman of Red Hot Chili Peppers and hard-luck autobiographer – is said to be turning his memoir Scar Tissue into an HBO series. The channel is renowned for its big-budget and high-quality TV productions, such as The Sopranos, The Wire, Oz and Deadwood.

According to The Guardian, Kiedis is developing the show with producers Marc Abrams and Michael Benson. “The projected series will focus on Kiedis’s unconventional early life in Los Angeles, living with his father Spider, a drug dealer to rock stars on Sunset Strip,” reports the paper. The reaction to the Scar Tissue book was decidedly mixed. Some praised its honesty and insight, while others dismissed it as self-indulgent drudgery. Regardless, the TV series is set to be more “offbeat comedy” than drug-addled drama.

“I love mulling over all this raw material,” Kiedis told Daily Variety. “[My father is] into it too He sees it as our last great hurrah. For us to be reconnecting to construct these memories – the women and the rock bands and the doormen of these clubs – is exciting.”

Monopoly

How could there actually be a monopoly movie? I mean there is really no plot. Also Ridley Scott wants to do it. OH DEAR.

Movie will fail unless Jim Carrey is the steam iron…

Genre darling Ridley Scott is going to bring to life the famous monocle man in a film adaptation of the famous Hasbro board game Monopoly. Yes, you heard me right — they are making a movie about the board game Monopoly. Not only that, but Scott will be sourcing from his past work directing Blade Runner to give the overall film a futuristic feel. So in the future of Monopoly, will the boot fly?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott is attached to the film and plans on making his Monopoly movie have a little glimmer of tomorrow.

Ridley Scott, who has been attached as a producer on “Monopoly” and has been mentioned as a possible director, is now officially attached to helm the project, with an eye toward giving it a futuristic sheen along the lines of his iconic “Blade Runner.”

Not only are we getting the real estate take-over movie, but Hasbro is working with Universal on a Ouija Board movie, as well as a Battleship flick. Wow, have we really fallen into an imagination depression so low that we have to find movies in crappy board games? And if so, why aren’t we reaching for the good board games? Girl Talk alone had enough sad girl-shaming moments ripe for a classic horror flick.

Where have we been? We’ve gone on one of our disappearances again.

It’s that exam time of the year, where basically time to get onto MG cannot be found. However we’ll be making some posts soon, once seph watches a few more films and I actually find someone worthy of person of the week (Barack Obama has already won it, so he can’t win again!) and wanker of the week.

Stay tuned.
