Back when I found out Ray Stevenson was going to be in the new Punisher film, I pretty much had a little fanboy cry of joy. If you’ve seen HBO’s Rome, then you know what I’m talking about. Anyway, here’s a damn cool image of him in costume, looking every bit the part.

Let’s just hope the film doesn’t SUCK.

Over the past decade or so, Swedish band Opeth have continued to evolve as one of the metal genre’s most distinctive sounding bands. Traditionally considered a death metal act, the band has managed to break through the constraints of any label by creating a sound that can’t rightfully be placed under any one genre. All their previous albums have been exercises in the experimental; pushing the boundaries of their music to new limits, and 2008’s Watershed is no different.

Don’t get too excited, you know these guys like to take their time, but hey it’ll be worth it. Plus the team at MG have plenty on their hands before more Daft Punk albums come out, such as the new Batman films, new metal gear and the filming of the Master Giraffe dance medley part 2.

If Daft Punk are reading this, I’d like to put in a personal request of more discovery and less human after all please!

A few years ago, Oddworld Inhabitants announced they would no longer be making video games and instead turned their focus to film, an announcement which shocked die hard gamers. After all, we were promised a quintology of Oddworld games!

Surprisingly, however, it was announced that a new Oddworld game is in the works with Lorne Lanning (founder of Oddworld Inhabitants) back on board, collaborating with Jeff Braun (boss of Maxis). Braun said the game will “Have a cinematic quality on a one to one scale with CGI-based films.”

With good news comes bad, however. Seems we’ll be waiting for some time for the game; apparently a slow production schedule could mean we won’t see it on shelves for a few years.

Uwe Boll. You know him, complete wanker. Makes terrible movies based on video games. Thinks he’s the greatest director of all time. Responded to his critics by challenging them to boxing matches. He called Michael Bay a fucking retard, who in turn called him a sad being, and so Uwe Boll challenged Michael Bay to a boxing match. Apparently the winner is the better director, or some shit.

Anyway. Uwe Boll was recently asked “Who would win in a fight, a minotaur with a trident or a centaur with a crossbow.” His reaction is laughable. Can’t he just… get over himself?

Uwe Boll being the world’s biggest wanker.

Quentin Tarantino announced at Cannes this year that his long-planned World War 2 movie Inglorious Bastards will be his next motion picture, filming is imminent, and if all goes well, it will debut at Cannes in 2009. Hopefully we get to see Michael Madsen in the lead!

In the history of motion picture, there certainly have been a fair share of villains so evil that your skin crawls at the mere mention of their name. I’ve scoured my memory for a list of the characters which stick in my mind, and I think I’ve come up with a suitable result. Or have I? You decide! Watch out for spoilers…

Here’s what to look out for:

- Continuous cackles from Mr. Grey (that is the guy with the grey t-shirt for you slow kids)

- Mr. Black (long haired guy with BLACK hair) leading the Pendulum dance

- Mr. Brown (you should work it out by now) doing a hat-trick in ‘Fly Me To The Moon’
