George Lucas. Mostly because of a couple things he said during an interview for The Sunday Times. Check out some of these quotes.

“Indiana Jones only becomes complicated when you have another two people saying ‘I want it this way’ and ‘I want it that way’, whereas when I first did Jones, I just said ‘We’ll do it this way’ - and that was much easier.

But now, I have to accommodate everybody, because they are all big, successful guys too, so it’s a little hard on a practical level.”

Of course. Damn that Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg trying to have a little creative control over a beloved character. The nerve of them. But wait, there’s more.

“I’m in the future, Steven’s in the past. He’s trying to drag it back to the way they were, I’m trying to push it to a whole different place. So still we have a sort of tension. This recent one came out of that. It’s kind of a hybrid of our own two ideas, so we’ll see where we are able to take the next one.”

I see. Spielberg wants to be awesome and take an old school approach to the films, which worked perfectly before. Lucas wants to have aliens, spaceships, shitty character development and tarzan swinging across really bad cg backdrops. Good one, Mr. Lucas. No seriously, marvelous contribution to a stellar movie saga. Sarcasm aside now, it’s easy to see why George Lucas is this week’s wanker. He ruined Indy, he tarnished Star Wars. What next? American Graffiti: IN SPACE?

What. A. Wanker.

Telstra and Master Giraffe have signed a new contract with rumours reporting it could be worth more then 15 Million dollars. Telstra have dumped the all new Next G network and from September 1st onwards, the network will be known as Master G. This is for a number of political and environmental issues.

Telstra CEO Solomon Trujillo has stated many reasons for this sudden partnership:
“Companies are moving forward in terms of being ‘green’. The partnership with Master Giraffe helps us move in that direction, the giraffe logo is a symbol of freedom, character, wildlife and nature. Master Giraffe and Telstra is the future.”

This has caused an upstir amongst competitors. With Optus releasing a statement earlier this afternoon: “Master Giraffe isn’t saving the environment, it’s a fucking giraffe, on a ship, AND it’s a website. How can this benefit for anyone?”.

Three mobile and Virgin refused to comment on the issue.

Telstra have already released new Master G phones and have updated the old ‘Next G’ logo. Obviously, we’ll give you a sneak preview of what it’s going to look like.

Erwin Stoff, producer of I Am Legend, has confirmed to iFMagazine that he’s developing a live action Cowboy Bebop film for Fox. Stoff claims that he has  “Such an enormous admiration  for its creators, that our first and foremost concern is going to be a real degree of faithfulness to the  tone of the movie, to the mix of genres,  and so on and so forth.”

For more about what Stoff had to say, check out the interview here.

Alan Partridge

Unfortunately for us Australians we haven’t got much to look forward to in terms of expert sports commentators. Let’s face it, they’re all full of themselves (with the exception of Dennis Commetti). Do I have to mention Robert Walls? I am so ashamed that he actually coached Carlton to a premiership. Oh my rant doesn’t include the two commentators during the Tour de France coverage either, I want those guys to read me a bedtime story.

Alan Partridge is a commentator for the people, a sports enthusiast who doesn’t beat around the bush. He tells us all we need to know.

Check out this video of Alan Partridge in 1994, it’s an absolute cracker!

Does anyone remember the god awful Red Sonja film from 1985 starring Brigitte Nielson and Arnold Schwarzenegger? I should hope not. That film was terrible and didn’t do justice to Robert E. Howard’s creation. The new film slated for 2010 looks more promising. Starring Rose McGowan and produced by Robert Rodriquez, the film will focus on the heroine who received her own spinoff series after appearing in Conan The Barbarian.

Check out SuperHeroHype for more pictures and details.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures have signed Darren Aronofsky on as director for an upcoming RoboCop film to be released in 2010. Aronofsky received notoriety for his critically acclaimed film Requiem for a Dream. The film will be written by David Self, who also wrote the script for Road to Perdition, which was well received by audiences and critics alike.

Aronofsky is a very unique director, I think his take on RoboCop will be very interesting, to say the least.

IGN has given us a pretty good glimpse of the original Minutemen lineup from the upcoming Watchmen film, and it looks like it came straight off the page of the comic. Instant win. Sally Jupiter’s looking fantastic.

Not sure what it is, to be honest, but I like it.
