Music on Master Giraffe

Posted by Willbo on April 26th, 2009

I’ve been mostly busy from this site, cause of full-time work, and cause of my personal music project - Giraffe Incognito. This music follows from The Slinky Cat days, and is alot more serious and I’m spending more time on it.

Check out my myspace and listen to my tunes!

Check out the ‘official webpage’ too…

Praise be to Valhalla as the sweet-bearded Technoviking leads his warriors through an epic ritualistic dance to appease the gods. May the rivers run thick with mead!

I don’t know who THIS GUY is, but I think he ought to be featured on Bedroom Albums. (When the crap are those guys making new episodes, anyway?)

You heard me. A great big merry christmas from the folk at Master Giraffe. With this post comes an apology for our lack of activity recently, and a promise that soon Master Giraffe will be back in full force.

Huzzah!

This would be interesting, and because it’s HBO doing it - I believe it could turn out quite good. Like a poor man’s entourage. But he’s still a tool.

Anthony Kiedis – shirt-fearing frontman of Red Hot Chili Peppers and hard-luck autobiographer – is said to be turning his memoir Scar Tissue into an HBO series. The channel is renowned for its big-budget and high-quality TV productions, such as The Sopranos, The Wire, Oz and Deadwood.

According to The Guardian, Kiedis is developing the show with producers Marc Abrams and Michael Benson. “The projected series will focus on Kiedis’s unconventional early life in Los Angeles, living with his father Spider, a drug dealer to rock stars on Sunset Strip,” reports the paper. The reaction to the Scar Tissue book was decidedly mixed. Some praised its honesty and insight, while others dismissed it as self-indulgent drudgery. Regardless, the TV series is set to be more “offbeat comedy” than drug-addled drama.

“I love mulling over all this raw material,” Kiedis told Daily Variety. “[My father is] into it too He sees it as our last great hurrah. For us to be reconnecting to construct these memories – the women and the rock bands and the doormen of these clubs – is exciting.”

It’s been a  while since I’ve produced a top ten list, but I’m back, and again jumping into that dangerous category of music.

So why song outros? Everyone has a song in their collection that they remember because of the outro. Even if the song is completely shit up until that point, it doesn’t matter, as the outro will arrive and punch you in the face, make you scream ‘what the fuck’, force you to repetitively punch the table with your fist yelling ‘yes, yes, yes!’, or sometimes it will just make you tilt your head back and soak it all in.

Ok I’m over the wank now, hear are ten outros that I adore. Also, the list is in no particular order, as I found it pretty pointless ranking them. Maybe YOU can decide.

Richard Wright

Richard Wright was one of the founders of Pink Floyd, and sadly lost his battle with cancer and died this week, aged 65.

So what’s a better way to then to honor someone by giving him person of the week? Anyway Richard Wright did some pretty cool shit with Pink Floyd, including writing songs such as ‘Us and Them’ and ‘Great Gig in the Sky’ from the Dark Side of the Moon album.
